Not only does your kitchen garbage disposal use a lot of water, but it also contributes solids to either your septic system or to the City’s sanitary sewer system.  It is especially important not to pour fats, oils, or grease (F.O.G.) down the drain, as these can accumulate in the pipes and cause problems.
