Time of Day Watering Reminder

All four seasons in Prescott are our “dry seasons”. A time-of-day water restriction is in effect from April 15th-Nov. 1st for all City of Prescott potable water customers. Outdoor spray irrigation and any airborne irrigation shall be limited to the hours between 8 pm to 8 am.

Watering systems using low volume drip irrigation are exempt but encouraged to follow the same time of day watering schedule to reduce water loss due to evaporation. (City Code 3-10-14) For more information on outdoor and indoor water conservation, including rebate information please visit prescottwater.com or email us at watersmart@prescott-az.gov. Come celebrate Earth Day with the City of Prescott on April 19th from 9am until 2pm. Prescott’s Earth Day celebration is the largest in Yavapai County, with 50+ booths and fun educational activities for all ages. Drop by the City ‘s WaterSmart tent for tips on water conservation, rebates, DIY demos and free fixture and irrigation water saving items.

If you haven’t visited before, the Highlands Center has a wonderful Discovery Garden highlighting native plants of our region.

Highlands Center for Natural History Annual “Grow Native” Plant Sale

4/30, 5-7pm Members Night; 5/1 and 5/2 9am-5pm;

1375 S. Walker Rd., Prescott, AZ 86303

The April 30 thur May 2nd Highlands Center Plant Sale is the #1 opportunity in our area for purchasing drought tolerant, native plants.Landscaping in Prescott can be WaterSmart and Wonderful. There are 100s of plants that need only 15 inches or less water after the first two years. This means Mother Nature does the work-no big irrigation water bills!

Join City staff to learn how Prescott is replacing aging meters with new models that offer optional access to EyeOnWater®, a free online portal where you can track your water use and set leak alerts.  A brief presentation will highlight how EyeOnWater® can help you spot leaks early and better understand your daily water use as well as when meter upgrades will occur in your area.  Staff will be available until ??????? to help customers with new meters sign up for leak alerts. Free water-conservation resources and water saving items will be available.

WaterSmart ™ Tent at Master Gardener Prescott Area Garden Tour

Check-in at Prescott Extension Office, 840 Rodeo Drive, Bldg C, Prescott

The Yavapai County Master Gardeners are hosting a day of garden tours, where Master Gardeners will proudly showcase their own beautiful and diverse gardens for inspiration and education. The 5 gardens are in the Prescott Area (Prescott and Prescott Valley). The gardens will provide a variety of educational garden features.

This year features the following types of gardens: Fire-wise and Water-wise, Pollinator, Habitat, Demonstration, Sharlot Hall Museum Arboretum. Prescott’s WaterSmart(TM) tent will be at the Fire-wise and Water-wise location.
