Check your toilet periodically for leaks. The City provides an instructional flier and dye tablets. Feel free to drop by Public Works at 433 N. Virginia Street and ask at the front desk.

Another option is to place a few drops of food coloring in the toilet tank.  If there is a leak, color will appear in the bowl within 30 minutes. This indicates your flapper needs to be replaced.
There may also be a kink in the flapper chain.  To rectify this, thread a short piece of plastic straw through the flapper chain; it then can’t turn back on itself.
