April is the Arizona Water Awareness Month

Mar 31, 2023 | Events

The entire month of April 2023, is devoted to Water Awareness Month in the State of Arizona!

There will be a special display at the Downtown Prescott Public Library in the Viewerie on the second floor.  The presentation is a Timeline of the various water sources used by the City from 1864 until 2023. This display will be featured the entire month of April.

In addition, Facebook will feature a new water conservation tip for each day of the month, starting on April 1st and concluding on April 30th.   See if you know all the ways to save water both indoors and out. Some of these tips may surprise you.

Earth Day is Saturday, April 22nd this year! The City of Prescott and the Committee on Pedestrian, Bicycle and Traffic Advisory (PB&TA) will have side-by-side booths in front of the Yavapai County Courthouse on Cortez Street.  There will be coloring books on stormwater and how to conserve water.  The PB&TA Committee will have a Safe Kids game that matches a traffic sign to the proper location on a map.   There will be plenty of literature for adults, too.  This event is not to be missed!

Beginning April 19th, The Highlands Center for Natural History will take online orders for low water use plants that thrive here in the Central Highlands.  A wide variety of plants are available for purchase and support the Center’s educational programs.  The City is proud to be a sponsor of this event. Plants are available for pickup on Friday, May 5th and Saturday, May 6th, from 8 AM to 2 PM.
